Wonton Soup Recipe
This is a really tasty Chinese soup.
Ingredients:
Soup
8 Cups Chicken Stock
2 Chicken Breasts, cubed
1 lb. medium Shrimp, deveined with tails off
1 tsp. Light Brown Sugar
1 Cup Mushroom, sliced
1 Cup fresh Spinach, torn into small pieces
1 (8 oz.) can Water Chestnuts
1 Tbsp. Rice Wine or Dry Sherry
1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 tsp. fresh Ginger, finely chopped
1 tsp. Scallions, finely chopped
Wontons
8 medium Shrimp, shelled and ground
6 oz. Ground Pork
1 tsp. Light Brown Sugar
1 Tbsp. Rice Wine or Dry Sherry
1 tsp. Scallions, finely chopped
1 Tbsp. Soy Sauce
1 tsp. Ginger, finely chopped
24 Wonton Wrappers
Directions:
Bring the chicken stock to a boil, and all the soup ingredients. Cooking until the chicken and shrimp are thoroughly cooked, about 10 minutes.
Mix the ground shrimp, pork, brown sugar, rice wine, scallions, soy sauce, and chopped ginger. Blend it all well, and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Place a tsp. of filling into the center of each wonton wrapper, wet the edges with a little water, and press them together with your fingers to seal, and fold each wonton over.
Add the wontons to the boiling chicken stock and cook for 5 minutes. Transfer to soup bowls to serve.
