Sweet and Sour Shrimp Recipe
Sweet and Sour Shrimp may be one of the tastiest recipes out there.
Ingredients:
1 Egg White
1 Tbsp. Cornstarch
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 lb. large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 (15 1/4 oz.) can Unsweetened Pineapple Chunks, undrained
1/3 Cup Water
3 Tbsp. Ketchup
3 Tbsp. Cider Vinegar
3 Tbsp. Sugar
2 tsp. Cornstarch
1 Tbsp. Dry Sherry
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Dark Sesame Oil
1 Tbsp. Dark Sesame Oil
1/3 Cup Mushrooms, diced
1/2 Cup Onion, diced
1/3 Cup Green Peas, frozen
4 Cups hot cooked Rice
Directions:
In a medium bowl, add the egg white, cornstarch, and salt, whisk well. Add in the shrimp, and stir well. Cover and let marinate for 15 minutes in the refrigerator.
Save 2 Tbsp. of pineapple juice when you drain them. Combine the water, pineapple juice, ketchup, vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, sherry, salt, and oil, blending well.
Discard the marinade and remove the shrimp, heat in the wok, 1 Tbsp. of oil over medium-high heat and add the shrimp for 1 minute.
Add the mushrooms and onions and stir-fry for another 2 minutes. Add the sauce and peas, for another minute until thick and bubbly. Remove from the heat, and stir in the pineapple. Serve with rice.
