Pork Lo Mein Recipe
This is one authentic Lo Mein Chinese recipe.
Ingredients
1 tsp. Soy Sauce
2 tsp. Cornstarch
1 tsp. Sugar
1 tsp. Rice Wine
1/2 lb fresh Pork Tenderloin, cut in thin strips
Vegetables
1 Tbsp. fresh Ginger (cut very fine)
1/2 Cup Bamboo Shoot, sliced
6 large Mushrooms, sliced
1 medium Zucchini or Celery, cut in 1” strips
1 Red Bell Pepper or Carrot, sliced
1 small Onion, cut in wedges
2 Green Onions, shredded
Sauce
1 Cup Chicken Broth
2 Tbsp. Oyster Sauce
4 tsp. Cornstarch
2 Garlic Cloves, crushed
4 Tbsp. Peanut Oil
1/4 tsp. Ginger
Noodles
1 lb. fresh Chinese Egg Noodles
2 tablespoons peanut oil
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons oyster sauce or soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons rice vinegar
Directions:
In a bowl, mix the meat with the soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar, and rice wine. Let marinade for 30 minutes.
Combine the sauce ingredients, and add the bamboo shoots, mushrooms, zucchini, and red pepper.
Boil the noodles for 3 minutes, and rinse and drain them.
Boil a pot of water, and keep it hot.
In a wok, heat 2 Tbsp. of oil, and stir-fry all the vegetables together for 3 minutes. Sprinkle 1 tsp. of sugar and a little salt. Set aside in a bowl.
Add another 2 Tbsp. of oil to the wok, and stir-fry the pork until it’s cooked. Add the sauce, and stir until it has thickened. Then add the vegetables back, and stir well.
Put the noodles into the boiling water for 10 to 15 seconds, just to reheat, then drain.
Mix in the noodles, and serve.
